Eligibility Criteria
Given below is the Eligibility Criteria for Fulbright Scholarship Pakistan to study in USA for MS or PhD program:
- Candidate must be Pakistani citizen. Also, you must be working and living in Pakistan.
- For MS program, you must complete 16-years education from HEC recognized university. It may be a straight 4-years bachelor’s or a combination of 2-years bachelor’s with 2 years Master’s degree.
- For PhD program, you must complete 18-years education from HEC recognized university. This may be Mphil program or any degree equivalent to Mphil.
- Students having MBBS degree may apply but NOT in clinical medicine or specialization. Because clinical medicine is very comprehensive program in US. In order to become specialist, it requires lot of years of practices after completion of education in USA.

- For MBA admission, minimum 2-years of work-experience is mandatory in addition to 16-years of education. On other hand for Master’s level education, work-experience is not mandatory. So fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply in Masters degree program except for MBA.

For PhD degree program, you must have completed Masters, MPhil or any such degree that counts to 18-years of education from HEC recognized university. In addition to this, you must have work-experience in teaching, research or public sector projects in Pakistan. For PhD degree program, quality and quantity of research work and publications with high impact factor has highest weight-age on your overall application. If you have these essential requisites, you are highly encouraged to apply.
For both Masters and PhD degree programs, all fields of study are eligible to apply, except for Clinical Medicine. Moreover, it is very important to note that you must have solid plan to return in Pakistan after completion of your education in US.
