how?
in one of the questions, answer key does not accept 51 but 51 is surely a prime number.
Hi Haseeb,
no 51 is not a prime because (5+1 = 6, which is divisible by 3).
O! yes. I shouldn’t take simple questions so easy. Most of the time we fail to attempt common sense questions. thanks, sir.
5+1 = 6 divisible by 2 also
51 is not prime number because it is divisible by 3,17,1,51 which is more than 2 factors if you know i.e 1 or by itself
You are right. 5 + 1 = 6*, so divisible by 3; hence 51 is not prime.
*Rule of 3: sum of digits of the number is divisible by 3, then that number is divisible by 3.
51 is divisible by 17.
Yup, also by 3 (i.e sum of digits is 5 + 1 = 6, which is divisible by 3).
No 17*3 = 51
51 is divisible by 3, 17 and itself so it is not prime
how is -2 the answer to least integar question ?
As,
n, n+1, n+2, …….., n+44
45th integer is n+44 because:
1st integer = n+0
2nd integer= n+1
3rd integer = n+2
.
.
.
45th integer = n+44
As Avg = (first + last) / 2
= (n + n+44) / 2
So, Avg = n+22 —————– (Eq. 1)
Also, Avg = 900/45 = 20 ————— (Eq. 2)
L.H.S of Eq. 1 and 2 are same, so R.H.S also same
So
n+22 = 20
n = -2 ANSWER.
hi sir, why did you take avg 900/45 ?
Hi,
We take another average 99/45 because we also know that average = sum/numbers
And also average = (first + last)/2
As both are averages, so both are equal. There’s how we will find value of I or n (whatever we have supposed) being the first integer of the consecutive integers.
Integer may be positive or negative indeed combination of these 2 actually so -2 is least number
dear 51 is also prime no i think
Hi Ijaz,
51 is divisible by 3, so it’s not a prime number.
51 is a prime number . but answer key show that it’s not a prime num.why?
No, 51 is not a prime, it is divisible by 3.
51 is also divisible on 3 and prime numbers are those who divisible on 1 and itself
Because, 17*3 = 51
51 is not a prime number because it is divisible by 1, 3 and itself
900/45 as we know sum/number but how it is equal to 20?
Hi Ali,
900/45 equals 20.
I couldn’t understand prime number plz help me out
Prime numbers are those which do not come in tables of any other integers. i.e which are not multiples of any integers except 1 and itself. For instance, let’s consider table of 7 (which is prime):
14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, ….
There all cannot be primes, because these are multiple of 7. While primes must not be multiple of any integer except 1. and itself
In short, primes are those which are only divisible by 1 and itself.
explain ans of this que plz
Hi Ayesha,
Which question?

with answer for least number =-2
Dear Ahmed,
Plz see my comment in reply to UZMA. It is explained there.
explain it please
